1/14/16 - "The Tree City Tornado," was back in action on Saturday night, October 10th at the "World Famous," Tony Stewart's 1/2 mile high-banked clay oval of the Eldora Speedway in Rossburg Ohio! This would be a Buckeye Outlaw Sprint Series event which drew a record 56 Non-Wing Sprint Cars along with 42 All Star Winged Sprints and 28 NRA 360 Winged Sprints for a whopping 126 Sprint Cars total in the Pits for the annual Eldora Sprintacular!!! Stapp would start off the night blistering fast, as he has been lately, by setting 3rd quick time in his Hot Lap Group! J.T. would line-up outside the front row for his 8 Lap Heat Race and never look back; leading from green to checker and picking up his first ever Eldora Speedway Heat Race Victory!!!! After the redraw he would start from the 7th position and would fight a tight race car for the 25 Lap Feature distance and end up 20th at the finish. The JDS Motorsports Browns Oil Service Team took notes for next time and will have a better set-up for the A-Main!!

"THE TREE CITY TORNADO'S" RACING SEASON IS NOW COMPLETE!! Full season stats will be coming soon! Stapp is staying busy working on getting things ready for 2016!!! He plans to race a Winged 410 Sprint more often in 2016 for the JDS Motorsports Browns Oil Service #74 Team as well as another car owner!! Stapp will also compete in plenty of Non-Wing 410 Sprint shows too!! He will also entertain the possibilities of doing some Champ Dirt Car or Full Midget racing as well!!!

10/15/15 - "The Tree City Tornado," was back in action on Saturday night, October 3rd at the 3/8 mile semi-banked clay oval of the Chandler Motor Speedway in Chandler Indiana for the "Leon Gentry Classic." The decision was made to head to Chandler after the season finale at Twin Cities Raceway Park was rained out! Stapp and the JDS Motorsports Browns Oil Service Race Team would end up 3rd in Championship Points at Twin Cities Raceway Park; only a few markers out of 2nd! J.T. would quickly get used to the Chandler race track with his previous experience in a T.Q. Midget from 2000. The track had a few rough spots and one of those would allow the right front to dip down and hike the left rear off the ground over a foot in his Heat Race!!! Stapp saved the car and salvaged a 5th place finish which would line him up in the 10th position for the 20 Lap A-Main. J.T. quickly picked off cars and got to 5th with about 6 laps to go in the race. Then he would battle lapped traffic and be right on the 3rd and 4th place cars at the finish line in an event that went non-stop without any caution flags!! Stapp would garner another TOP 5 Finish!! This was also his 5th TOP 10 in the last 6 races!!

"The Tree City Tornado," will be back in action this Saturday Night, October 10th at the "World Famous" 1/2 mile high-banked clay oval of Tony Stewart's Eldora Speedway in Rossburg Ohio!!!!! Well over 100 Sprint Cars will be in the Pits for this event!! Gates Open at 1, Hot Laps at 4:30, Racing at 6. Admission is $20 and a Pit Pass is only $25!!!! Come on out and watch a great event and make some noise for J.T. in his final show of the 2015 Racing Season!!!

10/8/15 - "The Tree City Tornado," was back in action on Saturday night, September 26th at the Twin Cities Raceway Park in North Vernon Indiana.

He was fast in Hot Laps and finished a strong 2nd place in his Heat Race after a back and forth battle with Joss Moffatt!! Stapp would line up 3rd in the 25 Lap A-Main and was running in 4th place on Lap 10, passing for 3rd as a red flag came out, but J.T. would have to change a cut right rear tire on the red flag intermission. Stapp would have to restart the race on the tail and make his way to 6th, right on the 5th place car with just a few laps remaining.  J.T. would end up 7th at the checkered as the 5th place car nearly caused he and Stapp to collide in turn 1 on the last lap. Stapp's heads up, clean driving skills would allow both to continue to the finish line. This was "The Tree City Tornado's" 4th TOP 10 in the last 5 Races!!!  Stapp is currently 3rd in the Championship Point Standings with a great shot at 2nd heading into the final show at the track this Saturday Night!!!

Stapp would start off his night by setting 3rd quick time in his Hot Lap Group!! A questionable call on J.T. for jumping the start in his Heat Race from the pole position; put him back a row and would lead to him getting trapped on the bottom of a top groove race track! He would finish 5th in his Heat Race and this would line him up in the 14th starting spot for the 25 Lap, 23 car A-Main. J.T. would bide his time early in the race with dusty conditions and actually slip back to 16th and then he clawed his way forward to the 6th spot at the finish; right on the 5th place car!!!  Another solid TOP 10 Finish for Stapp and the Browns Oil Service JDS Motorsports #74 Team from deep in the field!!!

This was the final points race at Lawrenceburg and despite Stapp only competing in 5 shows at the track; he still finished in the TOP 20 in the Final Point Standings with a 17th!!

9/22/15 - "The Tree City Tornado," was back in action on Saturday night, September 12th at the 1/4 mile semi-banked clay oval of the Montpelier Motor Speedway in Montpelier Indiana for the Buckeye Outlaw Sprint Series event. He started off the night blistering fast in Hot Laps and WON his 3rd Heat Race of the season over veteran, Jon Stanbrough in the 10 lap event!!!  Stapp led the first 8 Laps of the 25 Lap A-Main, but repeated restarts and a tight race car made it tough to protect the bottom of the race track. J.T. still had a solid Top 10 finish, finishing in the 10th position!!!

"The Tree City Tornado," was back in action on Saturday night, September 5th at the 5/16 mile clay oval of the Lincoln Park Speedway in Putnamville Indiana.  Stapp started out fast in Hot Laps as usual, but would have to start from the back row of his 8 Lap Heat Race with only 3 cars transferring to the A-Main! There were 40 total cars in attendance!!  J.T. would launch from his starting spot to finish 4th, right on the leaders, but one spot short of the transfer position.  He would line-up 2nd in the 1st 12 Lap B-Main and would finish 3rd to transfer to the 30 Lap KING OF NON-WING A-MAIN!  J.T. would start 20th in the 21 car starting field and climb his was to 12th at the finish to receive the "Hard Charger" Award of the race!!

"The Tree City Tornado," was back in action on Saturday night, August 29th at the Twin Cities Raceway Park in North Vernon Indiana.  He started the night off fast in Hot Laps and would finish  a strong 3rd place in his Heat Race; right on the 2nd place car at the line!!  Stapp would line-up 8th for the 25 Lap A-Main and would move forward to 5th by the first caution on Lap 9!  Several cars were cutting tires down and J.T. would have slow leak of his own in his right rear tire that would lead to a very tight race car on the restart. He would lose a few spots and then had another competitor try to run him into an infield tire twice! He would survive and finish 9th. Another solid Top 10 finish for the JDS Motorsports Browns Oil Service #74 Team!!

"The Tree City Tornado" will be back in action this Saturday Night, September 5th at the 5/16 mile high-banked clay oval of the Lincoln Park Speedway in Putnamville Indiana. On Saturday Night, August 22nd J.T. made his first Sprint car start at the 1/4 mile semi-banked clay oval of the Brownstown Speedway in Brownstown indiana for the Inaugural Midwest Sprint Car Series event. He was 4th quick in his Hot Lap group, but extremely heavy/tacky track conditions pulled down the motor hard and would make it nearly impossible to pass. The JDS Motorsports racing team made a decision to load up and head home to check things over on the 410 cubic inch power plant and get ready for next weekend after heat race action!

J.T. was back in action and competed at the 3/8 mile high-banked clay oval of the Lawrenceburg Speedway in Lawrenceburg Indiana, on Saturday night, July 25th. He finished 8th in the 25 lap A-Main for another solid Top 10 finish!! On Saturday night, August 1st Stapp raced at the Buckeye Outlaw Sprint Series event at the Lawrenceburg Speedway in Lawrenceburg Indiana for the Jason Soudrette Memorial. He fought a high speed miss in the motor and finished 5th in his Heat race, right on the leaders, but one transfer spot out. He would make his way up to the Top 10 with a very tight race car pulling several wheelies! Stapp still finished 4th; only one transfer spot out of the A-Main!! 7/20/14 - The Original Tree City Tornado was in action on Saturday, June 7th at the 3/8 mile high-banked clay oval of the Lawrenceburg Speedway in Lawrenceburg Indiana. This was a Buckeye Outlaw Sprint Series sanctioned show. J.T.'s night started off in terrible fashion when his car hooked a rut in the Lawrenceburg clay sending the car into the wall and barrel rolling 3 times before coming to rest on the wheels. This was Stapp's first hard crash in 5 years and he has been recovering by putting a new Maxim together thanks to Indy Race Parts! A big thank you also goes out to Browns Oil Service, Earl's Indy, Indy Motorsports Supply, Penske Shocks, Real Racing Wheels, Stone's Napa, American Racer Tires, Nate Brannin, Chris Ogle, and John McVey for all helping in their own significant ways to get the JDS/NCB Motorsports #74 back to the race track!

Thanks to Browns Oil Service, Indy Race Parts, Indy Motorsports Supply, Earl's Indy, Buffalo Wings & Rings, and everyone else that helped build this new car or replace parts!!

6/14/14 - The Original Tree City Tornado was in action on Saturday, May 24th at the 3/8 mile high-banked clay oval of the Atomic Speedway in Chillicothe Ohio. It was Stapp's first time in a Winged 410 Sprint Car in competition!! He started the night off by getting used to the car and fine tuning the set-up to his liking on the blistering fast track! His Qualifying Speed was well over 103 MPH average lap and well over 125 MPH at the end of the straightaways!! J.T. quickly caught on to the new car as he started 6th in his Heat Race and was up to 3rd in the first lap! He maintained the position for the first few laps until the right rear tire started losing air making the car very tight in the throttle. He finished 5th in his Heat Race to transfer to the 30 Lap A-Main. He would start 15th, next to Kory Crabtree and followed him up to the 11th spot until he started losing air in the right rear again. It made the car a handful, but Stapp held on and finished the race. J.T. looks forward to racing with a Wing again soon in the #A76 Shewbrooks Racing Maxim!!

He was leading the strong contingent of Brady Short, Jerry Coons Jr., Kevin Thomas Jr., and Ted Hines until the car hopped going into turn 1 allowing Short to sneak by and also made Stapp bump the wall coming off of turn 2. This would mean Stapp would finish 5th and start 15th in the 30 Lap A-Main. J.T. battled hard and finished 14th on the lead lap, right on the heels of Ted Hines. The team will get the shocks checked to make sure there isn't an issue before they race again!
